The Zetland Hunt trail hunt within the law under the terms of the Hunting Act.

Trail Hunting is to simulate traditional hunting as practised before the Hunting Act came into force. During both the Autumn and Winter months our mounted and unmounted subscribers meet to go trail hunting and ensure that they follow the general conduct of a days hunting.

Our Country falls across the County Durham/North Yorkshire Borders, and is about 442 square miles. Towards its Northern, Southern and Western extremities, a good deal of grass still exists, divided by stone walls, rails and hedges.

The Tees Valley is the centre of the best of the Country, with good "Jumping Meets" centred on Aldbrough St. John, Gainford and Staindrop.

A number of Social and other events are held throughout the year to raise funds.
